Yes, the era of plentiful work may be drawing to a close.  More and more manufacturing work is being

transferred out of the country to countries with lower labor costs.   In addition, computers are becoming

more 'intelligent' and are eliminating many white collar and professional jobs, as described in Jeremy

Rifkin's book:

               

               Because of this effect working families should consider limiting themselves 

               two or fewer children unless they have assets to care for them well into their

               adult life.

 

               GreatDepression2.ORG believes that in return for implementing

               FDR's Second Bill of RIghts, Working Families should agree to limit 

               the size of their families according to government recommendations, as

               is now done in many countries suffering from over-population (eg Japan, China, etc.).
